Yin Yang - Contemplation
‘Contemplation’ started with a traditional yin yang symbol, symbolizing opposites within that arise in both individual (internal) and community (external).
Imagining how opposites energize spirit and cognition (internal) and social (external) action, I realized the symbol and what it represents is a closed system. To break out of this limitation I eliminated the limiting outer circle, thereby releasing the energy of opposites.
In the centres, transient life (symbolized by coral) and the destructive forces of transformation (symbolized by slag) speak to the push and pull of universal energies.
