Last Harvest
As China emerges more on the world stage in so many ways, many of us want to know more about it.
Hui (Jane) Wang’s intimate documentary LAST HARVEST is about a couple who are displaced by one of the huge projects transforming the Chinese economy. This couple could be our parents; they could be us …
I had the privilege of co-producing Last Harvest.
Premier
The first documentary by filmmaker Hui (Jane) Wang, Last Harvest premiered at PLANET IN FOCUS, October 25, 2015.
Whistler
Last Harvest received two awards at the WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL:
• Best World Documentary Award
• Alliance of Women Film Journalists (AWFJ) 2015 EDA Award for the Best Female Directed Documentary.
AWFJ described the film as “a beautifully rendered and intimate observational film about the impact of massive industrial development in China. The elderly couple at the center of the narrative, an idiosyncratic and philosophical pair, provide a very personal glimpse into a country in the midst of enormous and physical change.”
